Trial period
A chance to try a VPS for free or a token fee before buying.
A trial period gives a few days to test the server for your task: speed, ping, how your software runs. Some providers offer it for free, others for a token fee, others on request to support.
If there is no trial, a refund in the first days or hourly billing gives similar insurance: a server for an evening costs pennies.
