SSL certificate check

We'll show when the certificate expires, who issued it, which domains it covers, whether browsers trust it and the whole chain.

Free, no sign-up. We don't store the addresses you check.

What we check

We connect to the site over HTTPS (port 443) and look at the certificate it shows browsers: when it expires, who issued it and which names it covers. Then we check that the chain leads to a root certificate that browsers trust.

Free Let’s Encrypt certificates are issued for 90 days and renewed automatically. If less than two weeks are left and there's no renewal, check your server settings.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if the certificate expires?

Browsers will show visitors a “Your connection is not private” warning, and most will leave. Search engines will rank such a site lower too.

Why does the browser complain if the certificate is valid?

Most often the server doesn't send the intermediate certificates, or the certificate is issued for another name — for example, without www. The check shows it.

Where can I get a free SSL certificate?

Let’s Encrypt issues free certificates, and many providers enable them in the control panel with one click.
