Russian law: personal data of Russian citizens must be stored on servers in Russia.
Federal Law 152-FZ requires personal data of Russian citizens (names, phone numbers, customer addresses) to be initially collected and stored on servers in Russia.
If you run a shop or service for Russians, choose a VPS in a Russian data center. Some providers sell separate “certified” 152-FZ plans — they cost more but are needed for government systems and healthcare.
