Virtualization and resources
KVM
Full virtualization: the VPS runs its own Linux or Windows kernel, memory is not shared with neighbours.
KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is virtualization built into the Linux kernel. Each KVM VPS is a full virtual machine: with its own kernel, its own memory and the ability to install any OS, including Windows.
Docker, VPNs (WireGuard, OpenVPN) and custom kernel modules work on KVM — things often unavailable with container virtualization. That is why KVM is the VPS standard today.
If a provider lists “KVM” for a plan, that is a good sign. If the virtualization type is not stated, ask support.
